At Parktown, our strength is primarily dependent on the large number of players who attend practices and who challenge one another week-in and week-out to advance in the rankings. Chess practices are very lively and competitive affairs with boys of very different ages and circumstances competing against one another. We have an especially large number of younger boys, which bodes well for the future of the chess club.
Playing against each other with the complement of advance Chess softwares allow our players to develop new techniques and perfecting their strategy. This explains why our school is always ranked amongst the top Chess schools in Gauteng.
Great atmosphere during the interhouse chess 2011. T Motsisi analysing the "next move".
