Academics

Academic performance at Parktown Boys’ High is of a consistently high level. In International  Benchmarking Assessments in English and  Mathematics (2009-2010), boys in Grades 9 to 11  scored well above the  national norms. Matric (NSC) pass rates are 99-100%, university (degree) passes  over 80%  and  eight top achievers obtained nine distinctions (2007-2010).  At Wits University, 24  ex-learners made the Dean’s List (2008-2010). A rating in the top 100 schools in South  Africa, the top 10 Schools in Gauteng and the top 10 Science schools in South Africa (Sunday Times, 2009) bear  testimony to academic excellence across the spectrum.  Structured, after hours intervention programmes ensure that all learner needs are met. - Mr R Pillay
